Multnomah Falls – This popular waterfall has become so popular that access is now limited to permitted users. You must purchase a permit and even then, parking is not guaranteed. I have seen hundreds of images of this waterfall and after visiting it I can understand why. It is a very impressive waterfall and one of the tallest in the nation. When I visited, I was lucky to be allowed in with only a handful of others so I could photograph the waterfall without crowds of people on the bridge. However even with the smaller crowds, hikers still need to use the bridge and I was unable to get very many long exposure photographs without someone walking across. Luckily long exposures are great for hiding moving people. Photographed by Matt Halvorson
